Stitchbook Journal: Nannie at Ninety

Celebrating my Nan’s 90th birthday!

A very special Stitchbook journal layout this week because one of my favourite people had a big birthday!

Last weekend my Nan had a party for family and friends and I wanted to create a double page to remember the occasion.  On the page I’ve included old photographs of her, including some of her as a baby as well as with my Grandad.

I’ve also included this photograph of the two of us on the day. I had to make an effort to drag her away from her friends to take it – but I’m glad I did!

The second page features a group photo of my brother and cousin with their partners. We are a small, close family but that doesn’t mean I get to see them as often as I want to, as everyone lives in different parts of the country. It was a great opportunity for us all to get together to celebrate my lovely Nannie! However it was a busy day so I didn’t get as many photos as I’d like.

I chose the colours based on the gorgeous blue and coral background fabric I used on the left hand page. As we are sweltering in a heat wave at the moment I knew I needed a colour scheme that reflected the heat and (bonus!) it also matched the colours on Nannie’s top in the photo of the two of us.

I hope you like it and it inspires you to create your own stitched celebration of a special occasion!
