Mr Darcy Fabric Brooch
Handmade pin brooch featuring a portrait of Mr Darcy (based on Colin Firth in the 1995 Pride and Prejudice series)
The portrait is a photographic image taken from an original textile artwork created for The World of Jane Austen (Stitched) exhibition. The original artwork was made from mixed media textiles, using appliqued fabric scraps and hand embroidery, and was then photographed and transferred onto fabric using a hard wearing textile transfer to create a sharp reproduction of the original embroidery.
The brooch is backed with thick felted wool with a pin brooch attachment. It comes on a kraft card and yellow paper backing with ‘Jane Austen’ cut out.
The outside of the shape has been machine stitched and it has been edged with hand-sewn 4mm black beads.
Size of brooch including beads: 5.5 x 6.5cm (approx 2 x 2.5″).
Size of kraft card backing : 7.5 x 11.5 cm (3 x 4.5″)
These are handmade pieces so may vary slightly from the photograph.
Other brooches and prints from this exhibition are also available.
