Stitch Your Family Story

Great news: My family history collection is now live! I’ve been working on this for over a year and I'm so pleased it’s finally ready for you.

The collection centres around a new book I’ve designed that is full of inspiration and practical ideas to help you tell your family history in fabric.

There are also 3 new embellishment packs on the theme of Stitch Your Family Story, that will easily add detail to your pages.

Stitch Your Family Story Book

This 32 page book is a great starting point for exploring your personal family stories in fabric.

It's an inspiration guide with some practical advice for how to organise complex narratives into simple Stitchbook layouts. I’ve worked with my Mum (who is really into researching our past) to unearth lots of my own ancestors photos and stories, and I’ve created my own pages using a range of methods to highlight interesting facts, relationships and stories.

There are three sections focusing on using photos, using data and using narrative- as well as some general info on techniques I use and how to go about starting your own project.

I hope it inspires you to unearth the stories and images hidden in your cupboards, albums and attics!

Printed Cotton Patches

This cotton patch set is something I’m really excited about - it’s my first try at designing and digitally printing my own Stitchbook Studio fabric! This is a swatch of fabric that I have designed specifically for this project, based on what sorts of labels and titles I needed to explain my history. The design has been printed onto cotton poplin and can be cut up to be stitched into your projects. The designs are the actual ones I’ve used in my pages in the book, so they will be really helpful if you want to recreate some of my layouts.

Just cut out the patches (leaving a little white border) and stitch onto your pages. They can be embroidered into to add detail too!

Stitch Your Family Story Badge and Patch Sets

There are also new versions of my badge and patch sets that tie in with the book. They are fun, easy way to add titles and details onto your Stitchbook pages.
